It has been a long time since I last updated my blog, nothing special happened really, just normal routine everyday, wake up - breakfast - work - tea break - work - lunch break - work - home - dinner - sleep. Oh well if you are concern, I'm fine, work is OK, tiring sometimes but just got to get used to, I will need to spend the rest of my life going through this kind of life.

Had done both the 13th week reviews now (RPSGB and Boots interim review), after nagging my tutor for the whole week, fooohhhhh can relax abit now till the next review, 26th week review, which fall on the week before I flying home for CNY.

I have a half day off today, for christmas shopping. I didn't do any shopping at all but just spend the time sleeping at home. Every year before christmas, Boots employee are given a half day off to do their christmas shopping, it is great isn't it, esp for people like me who don't really celebrate Christmas to spend more time in bed :p

Good news - I'm going to be a young pretty aunty to my baby niece soon, on the 23rd Jan 2010.

It has been 12 weeks since I started my pre-reg with Boots. 40 weeks to go ... till I qualified.

This is the 3rd time i went to Luton for courses. We went through hectic days this time, too much information, too much to learn in that 2 days (I was there on Tuesday and Wednesday). It was all about cardiovascular diseases and consultation skills in those 2 days.

Anyway, forget about the courses, I did have a wonderful night in Luton. I was staying in a hotel which located right next to the Arndale Centre, the place where I need to go for courses. The course started at 10am, so I slept through till 8.40am, when Chui San (a friend which stays in the same hotel as me) called, I guess I won't able to get up if not because of her call :)

The course finished at about 4.15pm on Tuesday, we went to check in to the hotel after that. Boots booked the hotel for me in advance, and know what, they booked the single room with dinner and breakfast for me, what a surprise!! I was told that I have 27.50 food allowance and 7.50 pounds drink allowance to spend on. How good they treated me :p

But because we are meeting another 2 friends for dinner, so I didn't spend the 27.50 pounds in the hotel, hotel food is always not as good as Nando's, haha, so we had Nando's piri piri chiken instead. Had a lovely time chatting with them, Chui San, Shara and Anne. I think we spent 2 hours or more in Nando's haha.

After dinner, San and me went for sauna and steam, i can't remember when was the last time i went to sauna, but i enjoyed steaming myself so much. We wanted to swim but too bad both of us haven't had swimming suit, so we promise we will definitely bring swimming suit with us the next time we are there (January maybe).

I think I lost some calories after the steam, hahaha. So we went on to order room service, not feeling hungry, but don't want to waste the 27.50 pounds, hehe. We ordered 2 soup of the day and 2 desserts, not very good but satisfied :p and went straight to sleep after the supper. So if you see me getting fatter or having big tummy, don't laugh ok!!

Next day wake up having full English breakfast, my favourite, yummy yummy!!!!

Life in Luton is so good this time, like living in heaven, Boots is treating me extremely well this time, I love them so much now, just because of the hotel, hahaha. Still deciding whether I shall stay to work for them after I qualified .... (probably not).

I have a c2pid customer that came in with a prescription yesterday, and he was coughing non-stop right in front of me while waiting for me to get his prescription dispensed, such an idiot. He was coughing really badly while i was labeling the prescription items, exactly right in front of me, few cm away from me, facing me, arghhhhh...!!! The dispenser did "hint" him, asked him if he would like to do some shopping and come back for his prescription later, but he bloody idiot just said NO i will wait for it here. So I tried not to breath while labeling the script, coz I don't want to inhale all the virus from him and get sick, whats more I don't know if he had swine flu.

Oh well, i think swine flu is getting better over here in the UK, but winter is coming, so it's flu season again, how can one differentiate if that is a normal seasonal flu or swine flu (oh, I would probably have to do a CPD cycle regarding swine flu vs seasonal flu).

OK back to the idiot customer, i had headache last night (yes after serving that idiot), and still feeling unwell this morning, and started to have runny nose, and feeling so tired all day in work, shit shit shit, I think my body is fighting hard against the virus that I inhaled from that idiot yesterday, please please please let my body be stronger and kill all the virus, I don't want to be ill. Will sleep early tonight, hope I will get better tomorrow.

Can't believe I have came to the end of the 7th week of my pre-reg, time flies isn't it? I'm slowly adapting to working life, I mean I have accepted the fact that I have to get up early every morning to get myself ready for work, and don't feel sleepy while working anymore. I miss my student life so much now, but i know this is part of life, the "adverse reaction" of growing up so i have to face it :)

For some reason, this is the most dreadful week I've been through. Don't worry everything is fine, work and colleagues are treating me very well, just some emotional problem, that I thought it will resolve by itself this weekend, but obviously I'm wrong. This weekend isn't as excited and wonderful as I thought it will be. Oh well, blame the PMS ...

I haven't been to cinema for a long long long time d, I want to watch Final Destination, but ....... it is too expensive to watch it in the cinema, mind you I am no longer a student, so I have to pay the bloody adult price for one movie, which is GBP 6.60, what's more we only have Final Destination 3D over here, which cost GBP 2.20 on top of the adult fare. How can I afford GBP 8.80 for a movie? So the conclusion is, stay at home "grow mushroom" and stare at the wall instead of cinema :(

A lady and a boy (her son) came to me to pay for their shopping, then the lady asked:

"do you have a piece of tissue paper?"

"yes certainly."

(then I pull out a piece of tissue from the normal tissue box and handed to her)

"that is tissue, I need tissue paper, it's ok if you don't have one."

So what is the difference between tissue and tissue paper. For me, they are the same, maybe I am too stupid for not knowing what is a tissue paper, so please tell me the difference.

This is the 3rd week of being a pre-reg pharmacist in Boots, Didcot.

Everything went alright.

The 1st week was abit boring though, as I was still new to the store, so it takes time to get myself adapted to the environment there. Colleagues are all very helpful and nice and friendly, thanks God!! Everything becomes more clear to me now in work. The people here is really friendly, especially the elderly. I will introduce myself to them when i really bored (when the store is quiet).

As i don't need to wear a uniform while working (while others in the store need/must wear a uniform except for the pharmacist), people will just walk up to me and think i am a pharmacist, then hit me with lots of questions. Good thing is when I answered all of their queries and decided to sell them something, but still need to double check with the pharmacist, this happened:

"well, i will speak to the pharmacist and see if this is the best thing you can take ..."

"oh i thought you are a pharmacist ..."

"no i am not a pharmacist, i am a pre-reg pharmacist, a trainee pharmacist ..."

"but you did well, you explained everything very clearly, i'm sure you will be a good pharmacist soon .."

(smiling happily in my heart :p)

That's summary of my work life now.

Accommodation wise, yo i love my room so much!!! but no pic taken yet as i am still trying hard to clear every unused stuffs in my room. I thought I have thrown half of my stuffs away while i was still in Cardiff, but no, i still got hell lot of stuffs here with me in Didcot now. Arghhh!!!

don't know how to describe my emotion now, it was terribly bad yesterday.

frankly speaking, i don't want to leave Cardiff to go to Didcot. i don't know what to do to survive this brand new start. i don't have a single friend there, no one i can seek for help when i'm having problem. how am i going to survive?

half of me actually scare of pre-reg itself, i already forgot everything i learnt in this 4 years, but this is not the main point, because i have confidence that once i start working, things will just came back to mind, or more reading will bring everything back to mind. the worst worst thing is the place that i'm going to, with no friend at all :(

can i really survive in there for a year? please pray hard for me, to meet all the good and helpful and kind people, so that my life in Didcot would be a better one.

Yeahh I'm seeing my parents and 2 sisters this Saturday, can't wait can't wait can't wait anymore! However, I haven't got a detailed plan for them yet for their visit in the UK. Please can anybody tell me where else can we go in the UK. For now, I can only think of Cambridge, Bath and North Wales. Is all those places worth visiting? Tell me tell me tell me!!!

Well, about my graduation, I am really excited for it, but I haven't think of anything to wear on that day. Anyone, any idea? I can't wait to throw the cap up to the sky, as high as possible ~

I'm no longer a student, sob sob. Last week we went for movie, Transformer, adult ticket is so damn expensive. Gosh i paid GBP 6.90 for that show (where you only pay GBP 4.40 for student ticket, what's more when you have the buy two for one student promotion from studentbeans :S)

How's working life? I am so going to step into it soon, in less than a month time. But it seems like we are having problem with the visa application thing, so I am abit worried now, don't have any clue what's going to happen next :(

OK till here for now. Sorry for my laziness. Mr Banana called me LayZee, yes maybe I should admit this :p (but not in front of him).

It has been more than a month that I never update my blog :)
Was too busy enjoying myself right after the final 3 tests of my undergraduate year.

Well, now that everything had came to the end.
I'm officially done with my MPharm.
I'm a graduate student now.
Well done!!!

I was over-enjoyed for the past few weeks,
went here and there,
especially Cornwall trip,
which is a heavenly beautiful place.
Now everyone had left Cardiff,
most of them went back home,
Theresa, Michelle, Mandy, Wunhwei etc etc.
Gillian went to Italy and Paris,
I am home alone now :(

When loneliness and boredom hit,
you can't help but doing something really boring,
for me,
i was on facebook restaurant city for the whole day,
thanks so much to Nata who introduced this to me.
It really helps to kill my time.

Well, I am going to Newcastle on Monday,
can't wait to see my darling.
We will definitely have a lovely time together.

i seem like so free these days, just don't feel like doing anything anymore. well, classes started on tuesday, as well as my part time job, i need not to go for lectures/workshops and work for so so so long d, really no mood to go for classes or work anymore. but i have no choice :-(

was dragging myself out from bed every morning this week, going back to uni for lectures is exciting and boring at the same time, excited because can see all my coursemates after so many months (we haven't got lectures for 5 months d) but bored because need to pay attention during lectures and sit for the tests. worst thing is need to prepare for the class, got a few homework to be done at home. aiksss can't remember when is the last homework i had, maybe in secondary school?

few more days till i really truly free. yeahhh..!

i got so much to think of now, all about future. even though i have secured a job since last year, but there is still so much to do and to think of. can i not think of it at all?

things that i need to do to prepare for my pre-reg (job) and graduation:

# study study study to pass my final tests.

# go to Didcot to visit the store i'm going to work in and to meet my tutor, to sign some really important document.

# look for a room in Didcot.

# take pic (passport size) for the pre-reg registration.

# submit my pre-reg registration form ASAP.

# get my hair cut and shopping to get ready for final year dinner.

# order graduation gown and photo shooting thingy.

# plan for my UK trip with family in july.

# plan for my holiday in may-june with friends.

those are the things i need to get them done ASAP. busy busy busy.

for my accommodation, i am thinking between sharing a room with somebody that i don't know at all in a house/flat, and renting a one-bedroom flat/studio apartment. which one is better? with the sharing option, i can pay less, but i don't know who am i staying with, it can be abit scary to stay with someone you don't know at all. with the one-bedroom flat, it is god damn expensive, minimum 550 pounds per month, exclude all the bills and council tax. any suggestion?

just a boring post, because i am way too lazy to do my work :)

oh ya, it's mommy 55th birthday today, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU mommy, hope you have a wonderful celebration in Singapore. I LOVE YOU.

aiksss, i thought i am not going to update my blog throughout this long weekend, but i failed myself, i have to blog as i have nothing to do while waiting for the c2pid megavideo. i am watching HK drama EU currently through an online website, and this c2pid megavideo can only watch for 72 minutes, then need to wait for another 54 minutes before i can continue watching again. it is very very annoyed to see those words pop up on screen. grrhhhh!!! so while waiting for the 54 minutes, i have nothing to do but to blog :)

talk about my project. most of you would have wondered why i have so many sexy pics on my poster, i am not doing project on pornographic ok, but i was dealing with anti-breast cancer treatment and it's mode of delivery. i wanted to post these pics up since the first day i started on the project, but .... you know .... LAZY!!!

i will never forget how disgusting the nipples were,

especially the smell.

cut out one nipple from the strip,

then cut off all the fat layer underneath,

left only the nipple and the outer skin layer.

i was so pro in cutting them towards the end of experiment,

so anyone,

if you need help in cutting ppl's nipple then let me know,

i can help you.

then put the nipple in between this cell,

it is called Franz diffusion cell,

it is used to test the penetration of drugs through the skin.

it will be left there for 6 hours,

and that is what i always complaint about,

as i will have nothing to do while waiting for the 6 hours.

normally we will went out yam-char in town.

and after 6 hours,

chiang chiang chiang,

nipples nipples nipples.

waakakaka.

and yeah,

that is what i have been dealing with,

for the past 3 months.

does it look good? haha.! i am so damn happy it is all over, no more project, no more lab session, no more thesis. i am getting nearer to the end of this chapter, moving into the next chapter really soon. anyway, i am really blessed to have a kind and helpful project supervisor, and really a huge huge thanks to gillian who helped me with all the questions and difficulties that i faced throughout the project. muacksss.!

A huge thanks to my supervisor, coz he helped us with all the printing, i have saved alot for the printing and laminating, i spent only GBP 7.80 for the laminator pockets, and that's all, all the printing FOC, it's good right? 55 pages for 1 copy, and i need to hand in 3 copy, total of 165 pages, which would have cost me alot alot if i were to print it by myself. and i am going to ask him to print another copy for me, need to keep one as memories, it contains all my hard work!!!

23rd April 2009 - MPharm 4 project poster presentation day.

Was so so so damn nervous a night before the poster day, until i got headache, migraine. So i slept earlier that night, even though i haven't finish preparing for my poster. It was a super bad experience on preparing our poster (gillian and me), and i swear that is the worst experience throughout my life. Pardon my laziness, i am really lazy to type the whole story here, it was a long long story, but glad that the presentation went well and it is over now. Just hope that i don't confused the examiners with my Manglish. Yes Manglish, which my supervisor concerned so much about.!

before i disappear for the next few days,

all because i have completed my FYP thesis,

i have printed them out this afternoon,

55 pages,

10098 words,

all my hard work for the project had come to the end,

i am a happy girl now.

if i didn't update my blog for the next few days,

pardon me,

i just want to spend my weekend relaxing,

sleep, eat and dramas,

oh ya shopping as well.

10 more days of classes and tests,

and i will be done with my undergrads,

i'm getting really near to the end of student life,

Finally my poster presentation is over .... feel so much better now.! It wasn't THAT bad as what i thought it will be. At least I still managed to handle/answer the questions that the examiners asked. I know my presentation was really really bad, seriously bad, and i can do alot better if i have more time to prepare :p All gotta blame my supervisor for delaying me.!

OK should leave it to another post about poster day itself. Coz i haven't got any pic of the poster day now, will get it from friends tomorrow and hopefully i will have time to update it asap. Mind you, i still got thesis to write and submission date is next friday, 1st of May. I am so eager to show you guys my precious baby now.

Talk about the free meal from supervisor now. I being so evil keep "forcing" supervisor to treat us lunch throughout the period of carrying out project, and he surrendered by taking us for Japanese on Monday, we went to Ichiban in Cowbridge Road, Cardiff. A night before, I texted him, said i want to go to somewhere far away, and want to go there by car, don't want to walk, hahaha. So we ended up in his "mini" car, which belongs to his daughter actually (i called it "mini" because the car is so small and he is so big in size, it looks so funny seeing him driving such a small car)

The car is slightly bigger than our Kancil. and got the hello kitty hanging there, OMG!! awwww!!! I keep teasing him saying that the car doesn't match his size, and he replied SHUT UP. waakaka!!

and see, this is him, can see how BIG is he? and he is amazing, he knows how to use chopstick!! and he loves wasabi, he can take more wasabi than i do, without tears!!!

This is one of the food we ordered. California maki. We ordered quite much actually, don't need to care for the price, just order what we want to eat, or feel like eating, so nice right! hahaha! We also ordered spider maki, unagi don, seafood pancake.

Okie i shud sleep now. Thought of posting some interesting spring blossom pics but will do that next time, tired now. Will get a day off from project tomorrow, just don't feel like thinking on project anymore, for at least one more day! Thesis submission on next Friday, hopefully there is no last minute work like this morning anymore!!! *pray hard*

Train at 7.30am from Cardiff and arrived at Manchester Piccadilly at 11.15am. Went straight to the Macdonald Manchester Hotel to meet with Leeli, and off we go to visit Old Strafford football stadium.

After visiting Old Trafford, we went to The Trafford Centre for shopping. It is one of the largest shopping mall in the UK. It is really huge, double or even triple the size of St. David arcade we have in Cardiff. And the interior design made me feel like shopping in Sunway Pyramid back in Malaysia. Goshhh I spent so much there!! Bought like 5 items in a day. Gonna stop myself from buying stuffs d!!

At night we met with ah Beng for dinner, had chinese meal, super delicious.! and of coz had lot of laughter too. We were so tired that we slept till noon the next day. Manchester has nothing much for sight seeing, so we ended up shopping again the second day, in city centre. Wanted to have dimsum but we don't know the way to the famous yet cheap restaurant :( then get back to hotel to rest while waiting for ah Beng and ah Cheng. Went for another chinese meal again after they were ready.

Manchester has so much nice and delicious food, not like Cardiff. Mind you, we only have 2 well-known chinese restaurant in Cardiff, pity pity! But consider lucky for not studying in Manchester, or else i think i will put on lot of weight :p

Finally the lab session had over, no more lab work for me anymore *finger cross*

Had been busy doing write up these days, progress is so so so damn slow. Everything had gone out of plan most of the time, really gonna slap myself for being such a lazy-bum!!

It's a long weekend this week, with Good Friday and Easter Monday off as well. Everyone is going off for a trip or holiday, but this poor lil' girl here been stuck in the house writing report, with the sunny weather outside :(

But it's fine, at least i am not alone, i have family support, i have friends on MSN accompany me throughout my dull days, i have housemates and coursemates who are sitting on the same boat as me, and and and the most importantly, i have my supervisor helping me most of the time. I think his life is alot worst than me, because he has me this stupid student, ask for help in every single piece of work. I've sent thousands of text messages and emails to him for the past 3 days, and he is just so kind to reply every single text and email from me.

Few funny email or text replied from him:

Me: Can you help me ... bla bla bla ....

(it was 10.30pm when he replied)

Charles: You want me to do this NOW? Maybe you can buy me dinner in Didcot in return.

(Didcot is the place i'm going to work after graduated)

Me: I thought you are the one who need to buy me dinner at both Cardiff and Didcot?

Charles: Oh no, you are too expensive for me, I can't afford you!

[and he really help reading and checking my report at such hour]

and I've been improving the experiment result for bloody 2 days, and sent to him again last night, texted him this morning to said i've sent final perfect results to him, and guess what is his reply?

Him: Hey pest, I've sent your results back 20 mins ago, not quite perfect yet.

Me: =.=" (sweat!!)

So there is more to improve, and I started moaning at him through text.

He replied: Stop moaning at me, you are the one who ask me to improve it!

Again, =.="" (even more sweat)

In the email, I apologized for ruining his peaceful long weekend, and he replied, it's ok, you can ask for help from me anytime, u know. Awwww ... i feel touched!!

and and and, the worst thing is, he said i should start writing on the discussion part, so that he can start translating them into English. WTH, i am writing in English!!! Grrghhhhhh..!!!

Oh maybe the worst thing is he made promised to treat us lunch on Friday, but he never reply my email when i asked about it. Huh, gonna bring him out this Tuesday and we gonna go to the most expensive restaurant this time, very geram!!!

1 and a half week left to poster day, and 2 and a half week left to thesis submission day, i'm seriously getting nervous, can feel the stress hitting on my body now!! Can i manage to finish everything by the deadlines?

It's spring now, flowers blooming everywhere, sunny weather, waaa i damn love the sun here in the UK, just love to walk under the sun. I know you will say i'm crazy if you are staying in Malaysia/Singapore etc, but you will definitely agree with me if you are here in the UK with me!!!

Last week after hair cut, went to this random park on our way home from city centre, and start our crazy moment by non-stop taking photos.

*p/s: all photos above are taken in the park in front of Cardiff City Hall, sorry i'm lazy to do caption one by one. One thing to mention here is, laying down on the grass is very very comfortable, so soft even nicer than my bed!!!

Working in the lab during Easter break is not fun at all, seriously!!! Everyone is staying at home busy writing up but WTH i am still here carry on with experiment??? I don't want to come back to this lab anymore!!! I need time to do my write up!!! I'm so damn pissed off now!!! Anyway, photo above is taken by my supervisor, me with my precious PIG's nipples, which had been set up in the diffusion cells. I seriously need to speed up my writing pace, have been working so slow all these weeks, one more month to go! Gambate! Can't wait d ...!!!!
